Job Position: Business Development Manager (Tender)

Department: Business Development

Reporting To: Head – Business Development / Director – Business Growth

Location: Delhi NCR (Travel as per business requirements)

Salary: 10-14 LPA

The company manages the complete project lifecycle—from concept creation and design development to fabrication, technology integration, and on-ground execution.

Role Purpose

The Manager Tender – Business Development will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing business opportunities across government and private sectors with a focus on museums, cultural infrastructure, experience centres, exhibitions, events, interpretation centres, and experiential projects. The role requires strategic opportunity mapping, stakeholder management, proposal development, tender participation, and seamless project transition to execution teams.

The incumbent will play a critical role in driving organizational growth by building strong client relationships, expanding market presence, and ensuring successful conversion of opportunities into business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market & Opportunity Research

  • Conduct comprehensive research on government tenders, RFPs, EOIs, and private-sector opportunities.
  • Track upcoming projects within museums, cultural institutions, tourism, events, experiential design, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Monitor relevant ministries, government departments, PSUs, consultants, and private organizations.
  • Maintain and regularly update opportunity pipelines and stakeholder databases.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and strategic opportunities.

2. Lead Generation & Business Development

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities across assigned sectors and geographies.
  • Generate leads through market intelligence, networking, industry forums, consultants, and existing relationships.
  • Prepare company credentials, capability statements, presentations, and introductory communication.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings with prospective clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Build a strong and sustainable sales pipeline.

3. Proposal, Tender & Business Plan Development

  • Coordinate with design, technical, finance, procurement, and project teams for proposal preparation.
  • Develop customized proposals, EOIs, RFQs, and RFP responses aligned with client requirements.
  • Create opportunity-specific business strategies, pricing approaches, partnership models, and win themes.
  • Ensure complete compliance with tender requirements, documentation, and submission deadlines.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions.

4. Client Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials, ministries, consultants, architects, and private-sector stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular client engagement activities to strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, exhibitions, industry forums, and networking events.
  • Capture and maintain detailed records of all client interactions within CRM systems.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups and relationship continuity.

5. Strategic Coordination & Reporting

  • Collaborate closely with leadership teams to align business opportunities with organizational growth objectives.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity trackers, and pipeline reports.
  • Submit weekly and monthly reports covering leads, meetings, proposal status, conversion rates, and key risks.
  • Participate in business review meetings and present opportunity assessments and recommendations.
  • Identify market risks, competitive threats, and emerging opportunities.

6. Project Handover & Transition Management

  • Facilitate smooth handover of awarded projects to execution, design, technical, and project management teams.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of client expectations, project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Support project teams during project initiation phases to ensure alignment with client commitments.
  • Monitor client satisfaction during transition and support issue resolution when required.

7. Compliance & Governance

  • Adhere to company policies, approval processes, and governance protocols.
  • Ensure timely submission of travel plans, expense statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of business information, proposals, pricing, and intellectual property.
  • Follow ethical business practices and organizational compliance standards at all times.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Architecture, Management, Public Policy, or related discipline.
  • MBA / PGDM preferred.

Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience in Business Development, Government Liaison, Tendering, Sales, or Strategic Partnerships. Minimum 8-10 Years in tendering
  • Experience in museums, exhibitions, experiential projects, events, infrastructure, architecture, design, tourism, culture, or government consulting sectors will be preferred.
  • Proven track record in tender management and business acquisition.
