Job Overview
The Senior Ansible Automation Engineer will lead infrastructure automation initiatives, develop reusable automation frameworks, optimize deployment processes, and ensure compliance with enterprise security and infrastructure standards. The role requires extensive hands-on Ansible expertise, strong scripting capabilities, production troubleshooting experience, and the ability to provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
Location and Relocation Requirement: Candidates based in Noida or Delhi NCR who are willing to relocate to Mumbai may also be considered. Upon completion of the project requirement, they will be required to report to the Noida Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex Ansible playbooks, reusable roles, custom modules, and inventory structures for enterprise-scale automation.
- Lead infrastructure provisioning, system configuration, application deployment, and operational process optimization initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex automation and production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code practices, automation standards, code quality, security controls, and performance optimization.
- Integrate Ansible automation with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools to enable reliable, repeatable, and scalable deployments.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance on Ansible and configuration management.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, networking, and application teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, automation frameworks, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure automation solutions comply with enterprise security policies, access controls, compliance requirements, and infrastructure standards.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices to improve automation capabilities and operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of overall experience in IT infrastructure, automation, configuration management, or DevOps, with extensive hands-on Ansible expertise.
- Strong experience developing enterprise-grade Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration, troubleshooting, and Bash shell scripting.
- Working knowledge of Python scripting for automation and integration.
- Hands-on experience with Git and version control workflows.
- Experience integrating automation with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment automation.
- Good knowledge of networking fundamentals, system security, access management, and infrastructure architecture.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement root-cause-based corrective actions.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, code review, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ansible certification or relevant certifications in DevOps, Linux administration, automation, or cloud technologies.
- Experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, AWX, Ansible Tower, or similar enterprise automation solutions.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with security automation, compliance automation, and automated infrastructure testing.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate can independently design, implement, and maintain scalable Ansible solutions in complex enterprise environments. They should demonstrate strong troubleshooting capabilities, a security-first mindset, ownership of automation initiatives, and the ability to guide engineering teams toward consistent, efficient, and reliable infrastructure operations.
