Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled SQL Server Database Developer with expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing existing SQL Server code. You will play a critical role in improving the performance and reliability of our database systems, identifying bottlenecks, and refactoring code to ensure high efficiency. If you enjoy working with complex queries, fixing issues, and enhancing database structures, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and fix existing SQL Server database code, including stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions.
- Optimize inefficient SQL queries and database structures to enhance performance and scalability.
- Analyze and resolve data-related issues such as slow queries, deadlocks, and resource contention.
- Monitor and tune database performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure best practices in database coding and design.
- Refactor and enhance database schemas for improved performance and maintainability.
- Ensure data integrity and security by applying appropriate indexing and partitioning strategies.
- Maintain technical documentation on database modifications, troubleshooting steps, and optimization techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, including T-SQL, query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a SQL Server Database Developer.
- Proven experience in identifying and fixing performance bottlenecks in SQL Server databases.
- Knowledge of data normalization, database design principles, and indexing strategies.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Familiarity with SQL Server on Azure MI.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines for database code deployments.
