Founding Team

Aseem Trivedi, Co-Founder and CEO

Harvard- and Duke-educated executive with nine years at Ernst & Young New York, where he built and led data strategy and analytics practices for Fortune 100 financial institutions across the United States and Europe. In India, he established and managed coordination for India's first bullet train construction project. Selected by the U.S. State Department to represent India at the Project Interchange alongside civic leaders from over 120 countries. At Novasensa, he leads strategy, fundraising, regulatory alignment, and large-scale industrial partnerships.

Vanessa Lacayo Trivedi, Co-Founder and COO

Serial entrepreneur who founded and successfully exited Aum Workspace, a home office design startup in New York. Prior to that, she was a founding team member of WeWork's WeLive co-living venture. Member, CII Critical Minerals Committee. At Novasensa, she leads operations, R&D management, technology partnerships, and commercial scale-up.

Role Overview

We are hiring a Business Development Manager to drive B2B sales and partnerships across critical minerals and coal beneficiation platforms.

This is a high-ownership role working directly with the founders to build and execute the business development function across two commercially distinct platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Critical Minerals (NovaGenesis)

  • Identify and engage suppliers of lithium-ion battery black mass, PCB scrap, and e-waste
  • Develop relationships with offtakers for recovered metals including lithium, cobalt, manganese, nickel, gold, silver, and palladium
  • Engage with stakeholders across the Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Environment, and the broader NCMM and EPR regulatory ecosystem
  • Host partners at our facility, walk them through validated technology performance data, and represent Novasensa's value proposition clearly

Coal Beneficiation (NovaX)

  • Identify and engage coal producers, thermal power utilities, washery operators, and industrial coal consumers
  • Support technical-commercial discussions using validated performance data: ash reduction of 8 to 18 percentage points, GCV improvement of 600 to 1,000 kcal per kg, sorting accuracy of 95 to 99 percent
  • Drive institutional BD efforts with Coal India subsidiaries, CMPDI, and state mining bodies

Cross-functional

  • Build and manage pipeline from lead generation through to signed agreement
  • Drive meetings, negotiations, and deal execution
  • Maintain CRM and pipeline tracking across both business lines
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and commercial documentation
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and government forums

Candidate Profile

  • 2–4 years of experience in B2B sales or business development
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable engaging with both private sector decision-makers and government stakeholders
  • Strong ownership and execution mindset; follows through without being prompted
  • Willingness to work in a fully in-person, travel-intensive environment
  • Genuine interest in or prior exposure to energy, mining, metals, or industrial sectors

Preferred: Exposure to energy, mining, metals, or industrial sectors; experience with government clients; familiarity with CRM tools

Compensation & Benefits

  • ₹35,000 – ₹45,000 per month
  • Performance bonus (5%–15%)

A Note on Compensation

This band is below the top of the Delhi NCR B2B commercial market for this experience level. What justifies the trade-off is this: the candidate will own the BD function end to end across two platforms with active commercial pipelines, direct access to founders with global institutional credentials, and live deal flow with named counterparts including Eastern Coalfields, Hindalco Industries, Jindal Steel and Power, and Mahanadi Coalfields.

Most BD professionals at this experience level spend years building to that kind of access. The performance bonus is meaningful if you deliver, and the equity upside for someone who helps close the first commercial contracts will be significant. That window is open right now.

ESOP

ESOP eligibility for high performers after 18 months. Novasensa is pre-commercial scale but post-validation, backed by the Government of India, with an active patent portfolio and commercial discussions with some of India's largest industrial players. Equity granted today reflects today's valuation, not tomorrow's.

Work Details

  • Location: Delhi NCR (On-site)
  • Official start time: 9:30 AM. Working days typically extend to 8:00 PM. This is a fully in-person role with regular travel. Two Saturdays per month are full rest days; alternate Saturdays are half-day working (until 2:00 PM).
