Job Title: Senior Underwriter – Commercial

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Underwriter – Commercial to evaluate and manage commercial insurance risks. The candidate will be responsible for underwriting policies, analyzing risk exposures, and ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory frameworks while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and underwrite commercial insurance proposals including Property, Engineering, Liability, Marine, and other lines.
- Evaluate risk exposures, analyze financial and operational data, and determine appropriate coverage terms and pricing.
- Liaise with insurers to negotiate quotations, terms, and conditions for clients.
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and internal underwriting guidelines.
- Provide technical underwriting support to the Sales and Business Development teams.
- Review policy wordings and endorsements, and ensure accuracy of documentation.
- Monitor portfolio performance and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with insurance companies and internal stakeholders.
- Handle complex and high-value cases independently.
- Support the Claims team with underwriting insights when required.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Strong experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Experience in evaluating commercial insurance risks and determining appropriate coverage terms and pricing.
- Knowledge of Property, Engineering, Liability, Marine, and other commercial insurance lines.
- Understanding of IRDAI regulations and internal underwriting guidelines.
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
- Ability to independently handle complex and high-value cases.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
