The Role:

As a Product Manager at Gajab.com, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for defining, building, and launching innovative product features that drive adoption, engagement, and transactions on our multi-vendor bargain marketplace. You will own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and market research to execution, launch, and post-launch optimization. This role demands a deep understanding of e-commerce dynamics, marketplace models, negotiation psychology, and mobile product development. You will work closely with our passionate engineering, design, operations, marketing, and business development teams to deliver a seamless and compelling user experience for both buyers and sellers.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision:
- Define and articulate the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the multi-vendor bargain marketplace, aligning with Gajab.com's overall business objectives and growth ambitions.
- Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis and customer segmentation to identify unique opportunities and unmet needs in the Indian e-commerce landscape.
- Develop a deep understanding of buyer and seller pain points, motivations, and behaviors, specifically within a negotiation and auction context, to inform product decisions.
- Champion a data-driven approach, utilizing analytics, A/B testing, user feedback, and market trends to iterate and optimize product features.
Product Development & Execution:
- Translate product strategy into detailed product specifications, user stories, wireframes, and use cases, ensuring clear communication of requirements to engineering and design teams.
- Lead the entire product development lifecycle from concept to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, UX/UI design, data science, and quality assurance.
- Prioritize features and initiatives based on business impact, customer value, and technical feasibility, effectively managing a dynamic product backlog in an agile environment.
- Oversee the development and enhancement of core features, including but not limited to:
  - Buyer-Driven Pricing & Negotiation Engine: Robust mechanisms for buyers to propose prices, counter-offer, and engage in real-time or asynchronous negotiations directly with sellers.
  - Dynamic Auction Platform: Comprehensive bidding functionalities, real-time updates, proxy bidding, anti-sniping measures, and various auction closing mechanisms (e.g., timed, buy-it-now during auction).
  - Intuitive Multi-Vendor Seller Tools: User-friendly interfaces for sellers to efficiently list products across various categories, manage inventory, track negotiations and auctions, communicate with buyers, and fulfill orders.
  - Advanced Product Discovery: Enhancing search, filtering, personalized recommendations, and category Browse to facilitate seamless product discovery, especially for bargain hunters.
  - Trust & Safety Infrastructure: Building robust systems for user verification (KYC), secure messaging, dispute resolution workflows, transparent ratings and reviews, and fraud prevention to foster a safe and trustworthy marketplace.
  - Seamless Payment & Logistics Integration: Integration with multiple payment gateways and collaboration with various shipping/delivery partners to offer flexible and reliable options.
  - Smart Notification Systems: Real-time alerts for new offers, counter-offers, bids, auction status updates, deal closures, and critical platform announcements.
- Ensure a consistent, delightful, and high-performance user experience across both our web platform and native mobile applications (Android & iOS).
- Conduct thorough user acceptance testing (UAT) and collaborate closely with QA to ensure product quality, stability, and alignment with specifications.

Marketplace Growth & Optimization:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as GMV, conversion rates, negotiation success rates, average deal value, retention rates, and user engagement metrics to measure the success of product features and the overall marketplace.
- Monitor product performance post-launch, analyze usage data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to drive continuous improvement and future product iterations.
- Collaborate with marketing, growth, and business development teams to strategize and execute go-to-market plans, driving user acquisition, activation, and retention for both buyers and sellers.
- Identify and proactively mitigate risks associated with product development, market dynamics, and user adoption.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership:
- Effectively communicate product strategies, roadmaps, and progress to senior leadership, investors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Act as a strong advocate for the customer (both buyers and sellers), ensuring their needs and feedback are deeply integrated into all product decisions.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven culture within the product team and across departments.

Basic Qualifications:

4+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling consumer-facing web and mobile applications.
Demonstrated experience in e-commerce, online marketplaces, or auction platforms.
Strong understanding of the mobile app development lifecycle and best practices for both Android and iOS platforms.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data and user research into actionable product insights and tangible features.
Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly evolving startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field.
Prior experience with negotiation-based platforms, reverse auctions, or "name your price" models.
Experience working in a startup or growth-stage company, demonstrating resourcefulness and a bias for action.
Technical background with a good understanding of software architecture, APIs, and scalable systems.
Proficiency in using product analytics tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude, Google Analytics, Firebase) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation methodologies to drive product optimization.
Deep understanding of user experience (UX) principles and design thinking.
