Job Description: Mould Development Lead – Plastic Packaging (FMCG)
Location: Bengaluru
Employment Type: Contractual (1 Year – Renewable Annually)
Experience: 10–12 Years
CTC: Up to ₹15 LPA
About the Role
MONOFIX is seeking an experienced Mould Development Lead specializing exclusively in plastic packaging for FMCG products. This is a leadership-focused, hands-on role responsible for end-to-end mould development, optimization, and lifecycle management of high-volume plastic injection moulds.
The role requires close collaboration with design, production, quality, and external toolmakers to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and consistent mould performance.
Key Responsibilities
Mould Development & Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end mould development projects for plastic packaging components
- Define mould specifications based on product design and manufacturing requirements
- Coordinate with internal design, R&D, and production teams for on-time mould readiness
- Manage external toolmakers and vendors for mould manufacturing and trials
Mould Performance & Optimization
- Troubleshoot mould-related issues during trials and mass production
- Optimize mould performance for cycle time, productivity, and quality
- Conduct regular mould health checks for running moulds
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to extend mould life
Costing & Commercial Evaluation
- Prepare detailed mould costing and feasibility analysis
- Perform part costing based on cycle time, material usage, and tooling efficiency
- Support management with cost optimization and value engineering inputs
Quality, Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure moulds meet quality standards, specifications, and production requirements
- Maintain technical documentation, process sheets, and improvement records
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mould development processes
Process Knowledge
- Apply strong understanding of RPT (Rapid Prototyping Tooling) processes
- Support new product development through prototype and pilot tooling
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 10–12 years in mould development for plastic packaging (FMCG preferred)
- Education: Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical, Tool Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of injection mould design, manufacturing, and validation
- Hands-on experience in mould troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle management
- Experience working with high-volume production moulds
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD/CAM tools, or equivalent design software
