Job Title: Senior Tekla Checker (AISC Standards)

Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu (No Relocation)

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tekla Checker with 8+ years of experience in structural steel detailing and quality checking.

The candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Tekla Structures, AISC standards, and US structural steel detailing practices. The role involves thoroughly reviewing Tekla models and structural steel drawings to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, completeness, quality, and compliance with project specifications and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and check Tekla 3D structural steel models for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
• Check GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings, and erection drawings.
• Verify models and drawings against AISC standards, project specifications, engineering drawings, and client requirements.
• Identify and report modelling, connection, dimensioning, drawing, and detailing errors.
• Review structural steel members, framing, connections, and associated detailing.
• Verify coordination between structural/engineering drawings, Tekla models, fabrication requirements, and erection requirements.
• Conduct detailed quality checks before project submission.
• Review complex structural steel structures and connections.
• Provide clear and actionable correction comments to Modelers and Detailers.
• Coordinate with Modelers, Detailers, Engineers, Project Managers, and clients to resolve technical issues.
• Monitor the quality, consistency, accuracy, and completeness of project deliverables.
• Ensure all identified corrections are properly implemented before final submission.
• Support project teams in resolving technical and detailing-related issues.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior Checkers and Modelers.
• Independently manage assigned checking responsibilities and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Required Skills & Competencies

• 8+ years of experience in structural steel detailing and checking.
• Strong hands-on experience with Tekla Structures.
• Excellent knowledge of AISC standards.
• Strong understanding of US structural steel detailing practices.
• Knowledge of structural steel members, connections, fabrication, and erection.
• Ability to interpret structural, architectural, and engineering drawings.
• Experience checking complex structural steel projects.
• Strong understanding of constructability and fabrication requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to independently manage project checking responsibilities.
• Ability to identify technical discrepancies and provide effective corrective feedback.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on US-based structural steel projects.
• Knowledge of AISC, AWS, and project-specific detailing standards.
• Experience checking large and complex commercial or industrial steel structures.
• Experience coordinating with US-based clients, engineers, or project teams.
• Experience with Tekla model coordination and clash checking.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior Checkers or Detailers.
