About Symtech
Symtech designs, manufactures, and installs multi-level parking systems, including Stack Parking, Puzzle Parking, Tower Parking, Pit Parking, and Two-Wheeler Parking.
The engineering team works closely with production and project teams to ensure that design decisions are practical for fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to create accurate, manufacturing-ready designs for multi-level parking systems.
The role involves 3D modelling, 2D fabrication and assembly drawings, BOM preparation, engineering calculations, design checks, production support, and revision-controlled documentation.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to see designs progress from concept and development through manufacturing, assembly, and site installation.
Key Responsibilities
System & Component Design
- Design mechanical assemblies and components for parking systems, including structures, platforms, brackets, shafts, guides, and locking mechanisms.
- Translate product and site requirements into GA drawings, 3D models, and detailed manufacturing packages.
- Modify existing designs to improve strength, safety, manufacturability, reliability, and cost without compromising functionality.
- Participate in design reviews and close technical actions before drawings are released.
CAD, Drawings & BOMs
- Use SolidWorks for part modelling, assemblies, sheet-metal work, surface modelling, and drawing generation.
- Use AutoCAD for layouts, GA drawings, and 2D fabrication/manufacturing details.
- Prepare component, assembly, and fabrication drawings with dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, and material specifications.
- Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and revision-controlled drawing release packs.
Engineering Checks & Component Selection
- Perform and document basic load, bending, shear, stress, deflection, and factor-of-safety calculations.
- Select suitable materials, structural sections, fasteners, bearings, shafts, chains, sprockets, and other mechanical components.
- Apply engineering drawing standards and basic GD&T/tolerancing consistently.
- Work with senior or specialist engineers where calculations or approvals fall outside the assigned design scope.
Manufacturing & Project Support
- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Quality, and Project teams on design clarifications and release priorities.
- Resolve fabrication, machining, assembly, and fit-up issues through controlled engineering changes.
- Visit the factory or project site when required to check interfaces, clearances, assembly sequences, and installation feedback.
- Develop practical knowledge of hydraulic cylinders, power packs, valves, hoses, guide systems, and safety mechanisms used in Symtech equipment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- B.E., B.Tech, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–6 years of mechanical or product-design experience in fabricated equipment or industrial machinery.
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Experience preparing GA, component, assembly, and fabrication drawings.
- Hands-on experience with BOM preparation and revision-controlled drawings.
- Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, sheet metal, and assembly processes.
- Ability to perform basic mechanical calculations and select materials and standard components.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
- Clear revision discipline and ability to work directly with production and project teams.
- Candidates should be prepared to discuss their drawing or design portfolio.
Preferred Experience
Experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage:
- Mechanical parking systems
- Hydraulic lifting systems
- Material handling equipment
- Elevators
- Heavy fabrication
- Industrial machinery
- Structural design
- Hydraulic systems
- Mechanical safety mechanisms
- ANSYS or other FEA tools
