Position: Senior HVAC Engineer (US MEP Projects)

Salary: ₹1,00,000+ per month (Negotiable based on experience)
About the Role
NexMEP Global is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer to join our MEP design team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing HVAC systems for US residential and commercial building projects and possess a strong understanding of US mechanical codes, energy standards, and design practices.
This role requires the ability to independently manage HVAC projects from concept design through permit documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
HVAC Design & Engineering
Design HVAC systems for residential and commercial US-based projects.
Prepare detailed HVAC layouts, construction drawings, and permit documentation.
Perform HVAC load calculations using Manual J and commercial load calculation methodologies.
Design ductwork, ventilation, exhaust, and outside air systems.
Select and size HVAC equipment, including:
VRF Systems
Split Air Conditioning Systems
Rooftop Units (RTUs)
Heat Pumps
Exhaust and Ventilation Systems
Perform outside air calculations and ensure compliance with applicable energy codes.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with Plumbing, Electrical, Architectural, Structural, and BIM teams.
Review project requirements and resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
Respond to permit review comments and implement code-compliant revisions.
Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
Technical Leadership
Independently manage HVAC design projects from concept through permit submission.
Review drawings and technical deliverables prepared by junior engineers.
Mentor and guide junior engineers to ensure quality and technical excellence.
Ensure project deliverables meet client requirements, schedules, and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC design for US MEP projects.
Proven experience designing HVAC systems for residential and commercial buildings.
Experience working with US MEP consulting firms is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of US mechanical and energy codes.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills for client coordination.
