Job Position: Plant Head

Location: Kagal, Maharashtra

Reporting To: Director

Experience: 12 to 15 years

Salary: Upto 80k per month

Industry: Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Qualification: B.E. Mechanical / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)

Experience: 10–15+ Years (Woodworking / Furniture Manufacturing Industry Preferred)

Job Purpose

The Plant Head will be responsible for leading end-to-end plant operations, ensuring achievement of production targets, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, profitability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires strategic leadership in manufacturing, supply chain management, quality systems, production planning, maintenance, procurement, and workforce management to ensure seamless operations and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Production Management

  • Lead and manage overall plant operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, and profitability targets.
  • Ensure conversion of sales orders into production output and timely customer deliveries.
  • Develop and implement production plans based on customer demand and plant capacity.
  • Optimize utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
  • Drive operational excellence through productivity improvement initiatives and process optimization.

Manufacturing & Process Excellence

  • Establish systems for monitoring process performance and production efficiency.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities are executed as per approved control plans and quality standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, cost reduction, and operational effectiveness.

Supply Chain & Procurement Management

  • Develop sourcing strategies and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Monitor procurement activities to ensure timely availability of quality materials at optimal cost.
  • Ensure effective inventory planning and control to support uninterrupted production.
  • Oversee outsourcing activities and vendor performance management.

Quality Management & Customer Focus

  • Represent customer requirements within internal processes and manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Review and improve quality performance metrics.
  • Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation to address quality concerns.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and quality issues.

Equipment & Maintenance Management

  • Ensure optimum utilization and maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Establish preventive maintenance systems to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee upkeep of assets, tooling, and manufacturing resources.

Product Development & Engineering Support

  • Support new product development and quality planning activities.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams for successful product launches.
  • Ensure availability of tooling, fixtures, and technical support for production requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement through adoption of new technologies and manufacturing practices.

People Management & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the organization.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Maintain harmonious employee and labor relations across the facility.

Safety, Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and statutory regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment and adherence to company policies.
  • Oversee plant administration and operational governance.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification

  • B.E. Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME).
  • Additional qualifications in Operations Management, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain Management will be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Plant Operations, Manufacturing, Production Management, or Factory Management.
  • Prior experience in the woodworking, furniture manufacturing, modular furniture, engineered wood, interior products, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong exposure to CNC machining and advanced woodworking equipment.
