About the Role
Times Microwave Systems is seeking an experienced New Product Development (NPD) Engineer to join its manufacturing facility in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting new product introduction (NPI), process development, and manufacturing readiness for RF cable assemblies and connector products.
This role requires strong expertise in RF cable and connector manufacturing, process documentation, production support, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful product launches while maintaining quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
New Product Development & Process Transfer
Lead and support New Product Development (NPD) activities for RF cable assemblies and connector products.
Build and validate first samples/prototypes of new products.
Develop, review, and verify manufacturing process documentation based on sample builds.
Transfer process knowledge and manufacturing instructions to production teams and operators.
Ensure successful transition of new products from development to production.
Manufacturing & Process Improvement
Monitor and control manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Review production variances and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Production Support & Training
Train and mentor production operators on new manufacturing processes and product requirements.
Support Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams in conducting technical training programs.
Ensure operators understand manufacturing instructions, process controls, and quality requirements.
Provide coaching and performance support to production personnel when required.
Planning & Coordination
Ensure new products are developed and delivered according to project schedules and customer timelines.
Coordinate with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, and Customer Service teams to provide realistic production schedules.
Recommend improvements related to equipment, tooling, manpower allocation, overtime planning, and production processes.
Testing & Quality
Support RF testing and validation activities for new products.
Operate and interpret results from RF test equipment, including Network Analyzers.
Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to product and process issues.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or a related discipline.
5–7 years of experience in RF Manufacturing, RF Cable Assembly Manufacturing, or RF Connector Manufacturing.
Mandatory experience in RF Cable Assembly manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of RF cables, coaxial cables, connectors, and associated manufacturing processes.
Hands-on experience with RF testing and Network Analyzers is preferred.
Experience in process development, product introduction, and manufacturing documentation.
Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing documentation systems.
Strong communication, leadership, and team coaching skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in RF and Microwave products manufacturing.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools and process optimization techniques.
Experience working in high-volume electronics or telecom manufacturing environments.
