Job Position: General Manager – Residential & Commercial Solar Sales
Location: Tamil Nadu & Kerala Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Experience Required: 10–15 Years Industry: Solar Energy / Renewable Energy
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven General Manager – Residential & Commercial Solar Sales to lead revenue growth and profitability across Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The role will be responsible for driving sales through a robust network of channel partners, building and leading high-performing sales teams, and expanding the company's presence in the Residential and Commercial Solar Solutions market.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in channel sales, business development, team management, and strategic planning within the solar or renewable energy industry.
Business Objectives
Achieve revenue targets of ₹10 Crore in FY 2026–27, ₹15 Crore in FY 2027–28, and ₹25 Crore in FY 2028–29.
Build and manage a high-performing sales team, growing from 5–6 Channel Sales Managers to 10–12 Channel Sales Managers over the next three years.
Expand and strengthen the channel partner network from 100 active partners to 300 active partners across Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Growth
Drive sales and revenue growth through direct and channel sales across Residential and Commercial Solar segments.
Consistently achieve and exceed assigned sales and profitability targets.
Promote the company's financing and in-house credit solutions to accelerate deal closures.
Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market penetration and customer acquisition.
Channel Partner Development
Recruit, onboard, train, and manage a strong network of channel partners.
Develop partner engagement and incentive programs to improve productivity and performance.
Expand channel presence across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets.
Ensure channel partners are equipped to sell complete solar solutions and provide excellent customer support.
Team Leadership
Build, mentor, and lead a team of Channel Sales Managers.
Set performance objectives and conduct regular reviews to drive accountability and results.
Foster a high-performance, customer-focused sales culture.
Customer Experience & Service Excellence
Ensure seamless coordination between sales, installation, and after-sales service teams.
Drive sales of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and other value-added services.
Monitor installation quality and service standards through regular audits and spot checks.
Ensure customer data is accurately captured and maintained for future engagement and business growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Marketing to develop effective campaigns, customer communication strategies, and promotional programs.
Work closely with Product and Technical teams to identify market opportunities and support product innovation.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to improve forecasting accuracy and optimize inventory levels.
Process & Compliance
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all sales channels.
Ensure channel partners comply with company branding, quality, and service standards.
Maintain adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
10–15 years of experience in Solar Energy, Renewable Energy, EPC, Electrical Products, or related industries.
Proven track record in Sales Leadership, Business Development, and Channel Management.
Experience managing large channel partner networks across multiple locations.
Strong business acumen with experience handling revenue and profitability targets.
Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing sales teams.
Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and capable of working independently.
Willingness to travel extensively across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and rural markets.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or related disciplines preferred).
MBA in Marketing, Sales, Business Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
