Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Manager – UK Accounting to lead accounting and bookkeeping engagements for UK-based clients. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in UK accounting practices, financial reporting, bookkeeping, month-end close processes, and team management. This role requires managing client portfolios, reviewing financial reports, driving process improvements, and leading a high-performing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Client Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Manage end-to-end bookkeeping and accounting engagements for a portfolio of UK clients.
  • Design and implement customized accounting processes based on client requirements.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Review bookkeeping records and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Prepare and review management accounts, MIS reports, and financial reporting packages.
  • Ensure timely delivery of client engagements while maintaining high-quality standards.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Provide financial insights and support clients with accounting-related queries and business decisions.
  • Support special projects such as financial modelling, business planning, fundraising, and M&A transactions.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Assistant Managers, Senior Accountants, and Staff Accountants.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Monitor team productivity and ensure efficient resource allocation.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • Implement standard operating procedures and quality control measures.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Required Qualifications

  • CA or ACCA qualification (Mandatory).
  • 8–12 years of experience in UK Accounting, Bookkeeping, and Financial Reporting.
  • Strong experience managing client accounting engagements and leading accounting teams.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Xero.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
