Job Description

Position: Field Sales Supervisor

Location: Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Bihar

Department: Sales & Consumer Engagement

Reports To: Business Manager

Payroll: Kairos Consultants

Salary: INR 30,000 + INR 3,000 TADA

Role Overview

The Field Sales Supervisor will be responsible for leading, monitoring, and driving the performance of a team of Field Sales Officers engaged in on-ground sales and consumer engagement activities for a leading steel company.

This role focuses on team productivity, sales target achievement, market execution, and disciplined field operations, while strengthening relationships with dealers, contractors, masons, builders, and influencers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Team Supervision & Performance Management

  • Supervise and manage a team of Field Sales Officers across assigned territories.
  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets and track performance.
  • Conduct regular joint field visits to coach, guide, and improve team effectiveness.
  • Ensure discipline, attendance, route planning, and daily activity execution.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions through training or restructuring.

2. Sales & Target Achievement

  • Drive achievement of sales, lead generation, and conversion targets within the territory.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on leads generated by Field Sales Officers.
  • Support the team in closing high-potential leads and key accounts.
  • Monitor dealer-wise and area-wise sales performance.

3. Dealer, Influencer & Consumer Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, masons, contractors, builders, and influencers.
  • Support team members in conducting on-site engagement and consumer education programs.
  • Ensure proper deployment of branding and promotional materials in the market.
  • Resolve escalated dealer or customer issues promptly and professionally.

4. Market Intelligence & Execution Control

  • Track competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and local market trends.
  • Share market feedback and actionable insights with the Business Manager.
  • Ensure accurate communication of schemes, offers, and product positioning in the market.
  • Maintain territory-wise intelligence on construction activity and upcoming demand.

5. Reporting & Process Compliance

  • Review daily sales reports, lead trackers, and field activity reports submitted by the team.
  • Consolidate and submit accurate reports to management within defined timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to company processes, reporting formats, and compliance requirements.
  • Support audits, business reviews, and data validation exercises when required.

Key Requirements

Education

  • Graduate degree preferred.

Experience

  • 3–8 years of experience in field sales.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or team handling role.
  • Prior experience in steel, cement, construction materials, or building materials industry preferred.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in the local language; basic English communication preferred.
  • Ability to analyse field data and convert insights into action plans.

Other Requirements

  • Own two-wheeler with valid driving license.
  • Good understanding of the local territory and construction market dynamics.
  • Comfortable with extensive field travel.
  • Maximum age: 35 years preferred.
