Position Title: Business Development Manager - Agency Channel (Life Insurance)

Location: Kolkata

Salary: Up to ₹5 LPA

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving agency channel growth through agent recruitment, development, and performance management. The role focuses on achieving business targets, enhancing agent productivity, and delivering a customer-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities

1. Agent Recruitment

  • Develop multiple sourcing channels to recruit insurance agents and build a strong pipeline
  • Conduct activities to increase agent referrals and hiring conversions
  • Ensure adherence to organizational hiring processes and compliance norms
  • Implement structured recruitment frameworks and selection mechanisms

2. Agent Development

  • Provide product and process training to agents
  • Conduct field demonstrations (FODs) to enhance on-ground selling capabilities
  • Develop agents’ prospecting, calling, and sales habits
  • Support agents in planning, executing, and reviewing sales activities
  • Identify training needs and coordinate with training teams

3. Business Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Improve agent productivity and persistency ratios
  • Ensure product mix as per company guidelines
  • Monitor and drive agent activity levels aligned with business plans

4. Customer Centricity

  • Act as a brand ambassador and promote customer-first practices
  • Build long-term customer relationships and loyalty
  • Conduct periodic customer engagement activities
  • Ensure timely and effective resolution of customer queries

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in Life Insurance / Agency Channel
  • Overall experience: 6–8 years
  • Experience in managing a team of 4–5 members for at least 2 years
  • Age: 26 years and above
