Job Title: General Physician

Department: Primary Care / Outpatient Services

Location: Kutch, Gujarat

Salary: ₹18 LPA

Reports To: Medical Director / Clinical Head

Position Summary

The Family Medicine Consultant provides comprehensive, continuous, and coordinated medical care to individuals and families across all age groups. The role focuses on preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, chronic disease management, patient education, and holistic, patient-centered treatment.

The physician acts as the first point of contact within the healthcare system and ensures appropriate referrals, follow-ups, and continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient consultations for acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Diagnose and manage illnesses across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Manage chronic diseases such as:
    • Diabetes Mellitus
    • Hypertension
    • Dyslipidemia
    • Asthma / COPD
    • Thyroid Disorders
  • Deliver preventive healthcare services including:

    • Vaccinations
    • Health screenings
    • Annual health check-ups
    • Lifestyle and dietary counseling
  • Perform minor procedures (as per hospital policy), including:

    • Suturing
    • Abscess drainage
    • Nebulization
    • ECG interpretation
  • Provide basic emergency stabilization prior to referral.
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical documentation.

Preventive & Community Care

  • Promote preventive health awareness programs.
  • Educate patients on nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, and mental well-being.
  • Participate in community health camps and outreach programs.
  • Ensure structured follow-up and continuity of care.

Coordination & Referral

  • Refer patients to specialists when clinically required.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care with specialists such as cardiologists, pediatricians, surgeons, and psychiatrists.
  • Ensure smooth referral-back processes and continuity of treatment plans.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain EMR documentation accurately and timely.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to NABH and hospital clinical protocols.
  • Contribute to departmental audits and clinical data reporting.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS with MD/DNB in Family Medicine

OR

  • MBBS with Diploma in Family Medicine (DFM)

Preferred

  • 2–5 years of experience in primary care or hospital-based practice.
  • Certification in BLS / ACLS.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • OPD patient volume
  • Patient satisfaction scores
  • Chronic disease control metrics (e.g., HbA1c, BP control)
  • Follow-up compliance rate
  • Referral appropriateness
  • Clinical documentation accuracy

Working Conditions

  • OPD-based practice
  • 6 days per week (as per hospital policy)
  • Participation in rotational emergency coverage (if applicable)
