Job Title: Founding Engineer – AI Agents & Real-Time Voice Systems

Role Overview

Renate is building an Agentic AI Workforce platform that deploys voice and text agents for real business functions—sales, support, operations, follow-ups, hiring, and internal workflows. We are looking for a Founding Engineer to own product development end-to-end and build scalable AI infrastructure from day one.

This is a high-ownership role. You will directly shape the product architecture, speed of execution, and technical standards of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy real-time AI voice agents (streaming STT → LLM → streaming TTS).
• Implement interruption handling, turn-taking, latency optimization, and human-like conversation flows.
• Develop agent workflows for real-world use cases: lead qualification, appointment booking, collections, support, internal ops, etc.
• Integrate external systems: WhatsApp API, calling systems (Twilio/Exotel), CRMs, Google Calendar, email, payment links.
• Build RAG (retrieval-based knowledge systems) to reduce hallucinations and increase reliability.
• Design multi-tenant architecture for multiple clients with isolated configurations.
• Build admin dashboards for monitoring agent activity, call logs, success metrics, and client analytics.
• Own deployment pipelines, infrastructure, monitoring, logging, and production reliability.

• System uptime and latency benchmarks
• Agent response accuracy and hallucination reduction
• Scalability across multiple clients
• Product iteration velocity

Required Skills

•  Strong full-stack engineering ability (Node.js/TypeScript or Python).
•  Experience with APIs, databases, cloud deployment, and production systems.
•  Knowledge of LLM orchestration, function calling, and agentic workflows.
•  Familiarity with streaming systems (WebSockets/WebRTC).
•  Strong engineering ownership and problem-solving ability.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Experience with Deepgram/Whisper STT, ElevenLabs TTS.
• Experience with Supabase/Postgres, vector DBs, embeddings.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior startup experience building 0→1 systems.
