Job Responsibilities
The Logistics Executive ensures smooth, cost-efficient, and on-time movement of TMT rebars and processed steel products across all plants and customer locations.
They plan dispatch schedules, coordinate with transporters, track vehicles in real time, and manage all shipping documentation to meet customer deadlines and statutory requirements.
By working closely with sales, warehouse, and transporter partners, they drive timely deliveries, control freight costs, and uphold safety and quality standards, keeping the entire supply chain running reliably and efficiently.
Transportation Management
Plan and schedule vehicle movements for inbound and outbound TMT rebar dispatches from multiple plants (warehouses, cut-and-bend units, weldmesh operations).
Liaise with transporters, drivers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimize vehicle utilization and reduce freight cost.
Order Fulfilment & Dispatch
Coordinate with the sales and warehouse teams to prioritize and execute customer deliveries accurately and on time.
Ensure proper documentation (e-way bills, invoices, delivery challans, LR, etc.) for every shipment.
Monitor and enforce statutory compliance for vehicle permits, driver licenses, and RTO regulations.
Tracking & Monitoring
Track vehicle movement using GPS/transport management systems and promptly address delays, breakdowns, or route deviations.
Provide real-time status updates to the sales and customer service teams.
Cost & Vendor Management
Negotiate freight rates with transporters and maintain an updated transporter database.
Verify transporter bills, cross-checking with trips completed, and submit for timely payment processing.
Warehouse Coordination
Work closely with warehouse in-charges to manage loading/unloading schedules and ensure safe material handling of TMT rebars and processed products (cut & bend, weldmesh).
Inventory & Reporting
Maintain dispatch logs, daily MIS reports, and analyze logistics performance metrics such as freight cost/MT, on-time delivery percentage, and turnaround time.
Safety & Quality
Enforce safety norms during loading/unloading and transit.
Handle any transit damages, claims, and coordinate with insurance providers if required.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, route optimizations, and process improvements for better service levels.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as a bridge between sales, operations, customers, and transport vendors to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Desired Academic Qualifications
Education: Graduate in Supply Chain/Logistics/Commerce/Engineering.
Desired Work Experience
Experience: 2–5 years in logistics or dispatch, preferably in steel/TMT/industrial goods distribution.
Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally) and e-way bill generation is preferred.
Familiarity with multi-plant operations and high-volume dispatch environments is an advantage.
