Position: Business Development Manager / Sales Engineer with training industry experience

Salary: 7 - 7.5 LPA

Experience: 3 - 6 Years with BD with training industry background is a must

About the Organisation:

The organisation (confidential) is a Chennai based IT consulting firm with its Headquarters in Chennai across two offices and one office in Bengaluru. Since the inception in 2017, the organisation is a product and consulting company; focusing primarily on security and automation. They also provide AI, cybersecurity consultation for their customers as well.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager with strong experience in the IT training / EdTech / Corporate Training industry. The individual will be responsible for generating new business, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth across corporate, academic institutions, and training partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and onboard new clients for IT training services (corporate & institutional).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business.
  • Understand customer training requirements and propose relevant training programs (classroom, virtual, and lab-based).
  • Conduct client meetings, product presentations, demos, and negotiations.
  • Work closely with the operations team to plan training schedules and ensure seamless delivery.
  • Maintain a healthy sales funnel and provide weekly/monthly sales forecasts and reports.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities, seminars, and industry events.
  • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 4–5 years of proven field sales experience in the IT training / EdTech / learning solutions industry.
  • Strong business knowledge of IT domains such as Cloud, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, AI/ML, Development, and other emerging technologies.
  • Ability to understand training content/curriculum and match it with customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong network of corporate L&D managers, technology leaders, and training procurement teams (preferred).
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, email & reporting.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Self-driven, target-oriented, and passionate about sales.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable with frequent travel for client visits.
  • Strong customer service attitude with follow-through on commitments.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
