Job Description

Job Title: Fire & Life Safety Auditor

Company: Design2Occupancy Services LLP
Location: Jaipur
Experience Required: Minimum 2 year

Salary Range: ₹30,000 – ₹55,000 CTC per month
Educational Qualification: Graduates/Postgraduates from any stream (BBA/MBA preferred)

Job Summary:

The Fire & Life Safety Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive fire and life safety audits of buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, applicable fire codes, and international standards. The role includes site inspections, system verification, gap analysis, risk assessment, and preparation of detailed Fire & Life Safety (FLS) audit reports with corrective action recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Fire & Life Safety audits for commercial buildings, hotels, industrial facilities, residential and mixed-use developments.
  • Inspect fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps, and water storage.
  • Verify means of egress including travel distance, exit signage, emergency lighting, staircases, and fire doors.
  • Review passive fire protection systems such as fire-rated walls, shafts, penetrations, and compartmentation.
  • Assess fire safety compliance in DG rooms, electrical rooms, kitchens, and BOH areas.
  • Perform functional testing of fire systems where applicable.
  • Identify non-compliances, risks, and life safety hazards.
  • Prepare detailed Fire & Life Safety Audit Reports with clause-wise observations and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities for compliance and rectification.

Codes & Standards Knowledge

  • National Building Code of India (NBC 2016 – Part 4 Fire & Life Safety)
  • NFPA Standards (as applicable): NFPA 10, 13, 14, 20, 101 and 72
  • Local Fire Authority / State Fire Service guidelines

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Fire safety certification or auditor training is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in Fire & Life Safety audits or fire compliance projects.
  • Experience in hotels, hospitals, high-rise buildings, or industrial facilities preferred.

Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of fire codes and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent observation, reporting, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and basic AutoCAD for drawing review.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong safety-oriented mindset.
