Job Description

Position:  Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

Salary: 40 to 55 k monthly + incentives

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Market Development

  • Achieve regional sales targets and improve market share for oncology brands
  • Drive business growth across government hospitals, private hospitals, cancer institutes, and oncology centres
  • Develop and implement region-specific business plans considering Indian market dynamics
  • Track competitor activity, tender business, pricing, and product availability

Team Management & Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Oncology Business Managers / Medical Representatives
  • Conduct regular field coaching, joint calls, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure scientific detailing standards and product knowledge excellence
  • Build strong succession planning and talent pipeline

Key Account & KOL Management

  • Build long-term relationships with oncologists, haematologists, radiologists, pharmacists, and hospital administrators
  • Identify and manage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) for scientific engagement
  • Support institutional sales, tenders, and formulary inclusions
  • Coordinate CMEs, conferences, and scientific meetings in collaboration with Medical Affairs

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Supply Chain teams
  • Support new product launches and therapy area expansions
  • Ensure effective implementation of promotional campaigns and brand strategies

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to UCPMP, DPCO, and company SOPs
  • Promote ethical marketing practices and responsible engagement with healthcare professionals
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting through CRM and MIS systems

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Science
  • MBA / PGDM in Marketing or Sales preferred

Experience

  • 8–12 years of pharmaceutical sales experience in India
  • 3–5 years of people management experience
  • Strong background in Oncology, Oncology Supportive Care, or Specialty Care
  • Experience in handling institutional and tender business is highly desirable

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • In-depth understanding of the Indian oncology landscape and hospital ecosystem
  • Excellent communication in English and regional languages
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong business planning ability

  • Regional sales target achievement
  • Market share growth in key oncology brands
  • Productivity and capability of the sales team
  • KOL coverage and institutional account performance
  • Compliance adherence and quality metrics

Travel Requirement

  • Extensive travel across the assigned Indian region
