Role Overview
The Field Sales Supervisor will lead, monitor, and drive the performance of a team of Field Sales Officers engaged in on-ground sales and consumer engagement for a leading steel company. The role focuses on team productivity, target achievement, market execution, and ensuring disciplined field operations while strengthening relationships with dealers, contractors, and influencers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Supervision & Performance Management
- Supervise and manage a team of Field Sales Officers across assigned territories.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets for the team and track achievement.
- Conduct regular field visits with sales officers to coach, guide, and improve selling effectiveness.
- Ensure discipline, attendance, route planning, and daily activity execution by the team.
- Identify performance gaps and take corrective actions through training or realignment.
2. Sales & Target Achievement
- Drive achievement of sales, lead generation, and conversion targets for the assigned territory.
- Ensure timely follow-up on leads generated by Field Sales Officers.
- Support officers in closing high-potential leads and key accounts.
- Monitor dealer-wise and area-wise sales performance.
3. Dealer, Influencer & Consumer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, masons, contractors, builders, and influencers.
- Support Field Sales Officers in conducting consumer education and on-site engagement activities.
- Ensure effective deployment of branding and promotional materials in the market.
- Resolve escalated dealer or customer issues promptly.
4. Market Intelligence & Execution Control
- Track competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and local market movements.
- Share structured market feedback and actionable insights with the Business Manager.
- Ensure correct communication of schemes, offers, and product positioning on ground.
- Maintain territory-wise intelligence on construction activity and upcoming demand.
5. Reporting & Process Compliance
- Review daily sales reports, lead trackers, and field activity reports submitted by the team.
- Consolidate and submit accurate reports to the Business Manager within defined timelines.
- Ensure adherence to company processes, reporting formats, and compliance requirements.
- Support audits, reviews, and data validation exercises when required.
Key Requirements
Education
- Graduate degree preferred.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in field sales.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or team-handling role.
- Prior experience in construction, steel, cement, or building materials industry preferred.
Skills
- Strong team management and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in the local language with basic proficiency in English.
- Ability to analyse field data and translate it into actionable plans.
Other Requirements
- Own a personal two-wheeler with a valid driving license.
- Good understanding of the local territory and construction market dynamics.
- Comfortable with extensive field travel.
- Maximum age: 35 years (preferred).
