Role Overview
The Consultant Plastic Surgeon will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, planning, and performing reconstructive, trauma-based, and aesthetic surgical procedures. The role involves delivering high-quality clinical care, ensuring patient safety, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in reconstructive and cosmetic procedures and demonstrate exceptional surgical precision and clinical judgement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Surgical & Clinical Responsibilities
Reconstructive Surgery: Perform procedures for congenital abnormalities, trauma injuries, cancer defects, and deformity corrections (e.g., flap surgeries, skin grafting, breast reconstruction, cleft surgeries, hand surgery).
Aesthetic/Cosmetic Surgery: Conduct elective surgeries including rhinoplasty, facelift, blepharoplasty, liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast augmentation/reduction, etc.
Trauma & Burn Management: Provide surgical intervention for burns, complex injuries, soft tissue trauma, and facial fractures in coordination with trauma teams.
Non-Surgical Cosmetic Procedures: Deliver injectable and laser-based aesthetic therapies (e.g., fillers, botox) based on hospital scope.
2. Patient Management & Consultation
Conduct detailed pre-operative patient assessments including surgical eligibility, risks, and outcome expectations.
Develop customised surgical treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
Provide post-operative care, monitor healing progress, and manage complications.
Offer counselling on recovery pathways and lifestyle-adjustments post surgery.
3. Collaboration & Administration
Work collaboratively with anesthesiology, dermatology, oncology, radiology, and nursing teams.
Maintain accurate and compliant EMR documentation of consultations and surgeries.
Participate in clinical meetings, morbidity review, tumor boards, and quality audits.
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, medical ethics, safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
Education: DrNB / MCh in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery from a recognised institution.
Medical License: Valid medical license and surgical registration in India.
Experience: 0–3 years post-residency/fellowship experience in plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Working Conditions
