Job Description

Job Title: Orthopaedic Medical Officer / Junior Orthopaedic Consultant
Location: Bhachau, Kutch, Gujarat
Department: Orthopaedics
Salary: ₹1.5 LPA + Incentives + Revenue Sharing (Department-Based)
Reporting To: Senior Orthopaedic Consultant / Head of Orthopaedics
Work Mode: Full-time, Onsite

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Orthopaedic Medical Officer / Junior Orthopaedic Consultant to support OPD, IPD, Emergency, Operation Theatre, and Trauma services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical orthopaedic care, assisting in surgeries, managing trauma cases, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes under the guidance of senior consultants.

Educational Qualifications

  • Diploma in Orthopaedics (D.Ortho) – Mandatory
  • Valid registration with State Medical Council / NMC
  • ACLS/BLS certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Evaluate and manage patients with musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
  • Conduct detailed orthopaedic examinations and clinical documentation.
  • Treat orthopaedic conditions including fractures, arthritis, soft-tissue injuries and dislocations.
  • Provide conservative care including splinting, casting, traction and rehabilitation planning.

Trauma & Emergency Management

  • Perform initial assessment and stabilization of trauma patients.
  • Carry out emergency procedures: fracture reduction, slab application and wound care.
  • Work closely with emergency, anaesthesia & ICU teams.

Surgical & OT Responsibilities

  • Assist senior surgeons during elective and emergency surgeries.
  • Manage pre-operative evaluation and post-operative monitoring.
  • Maintain surgical notes, OT records and implant tracking.
  • Follow sterile and OT safety protocols at all times.

OPD & IPD Management

  • Conduct OPD consultations independently or under supervision.
  • Manage inpatient rounds, daily progress notes and treatment updates.
  • Coordinate follow-up care, discharge planning, and patient counselling.

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Strong diagnostic and clinical orthopaedic knowledge
  • Ability to independently manage routine orthopaedic cases
  • Excellent emergency & trauma handling skills
  • Good communication and patient counselling abilities
  • Team coordination & multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Strong documentation, observation & reporting ability

Work Schedule

  • As per hospital duty roster
  • On-call duties and emergency response required
