Job Description: Head of Housekeeping (HOD – Housekeeping)
Location: Ahmedabad Salary: ₹12–13 LPA Industry: Hospitality / Large Property Management Qualification: IHM background mandatory
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Housekeeping (HOD) to lead and manage the overall housekeeping operations of a large-scale property. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in hospitality, particularly from IHM, and proven expertise managing 1.5 to 2.5 lakh sq. ft. properties or hotels with high operational standards. The role involves leading a large team, ensuring high levels of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
Oversee daily housekeeping operations across the entire property (1.5 lakh – 2.5 lakh sq. ft.).
Manage cleaning schedules, room assignments, and operational workflows to ensure efficiency.
Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
2. Team Management
Lead and supervise a large team of 90–100 housekeeping associates, including
Assistant Managers
Deputy Managers
Supervisors
Conduct regular training, performance evaluations, and motivational activities.
Maintain proper staffing levels and manage roster planning.
3. Room & Property Management
Ensure upkeep and cleanliness of 150–200 rooms, public areas, corridors, and back-of-house spaces.
Monitor housekeeping supplies and linen inventory; manage procurement and vendor coordination.
Conduct regular inspections to maintain exceptional cleanliness standards.
4. Guest Experience Management
Address and resolve guest concerns efficiently to ensure high satisfaction levels.
Work closely with the front office and other departments to ensure smooth guest room turnover.
5. Budgeting & Reporting
Manage housekeeping budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation.
Develop maintenance and cleanliness audit reports for management review.
6. Process Improvement
Implement best housekeeping practices and suggest improvements for enhanced operational efficiency.
Introduce modern cleaning techniques, equipment, and sustainability initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
IHM Graduate (mandatory).
Minimum 8–12 years of experience in housekeeping operations, preferably in the hotel industry.
Proven experience managing:
Large property size (1.5 lakh – 2.5 lakh sq. ft.)
150–200 guest rooms
90–100 housekeeping staff
Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Hands-on experience with housekeeping audits, SOPs, and quality control.
