Job Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the wire drawing machine to produce steel wire of specified size and quality. Responsible for machine setup, continuous monitoring, quality checks, basic troubleshooting, and routine maintenance while ensuring safe operations and meeting daily production targets.

Wire Drawing Machine

• Machine Operation:
  • Set up and operate wire drawing machines to draw steel wire to required diameters.
  • Adjust machine settings (speed, tension, lubrication) to meet production specifications.
  • Monitor operations to detect malfunctions or deviations from quality standards.
• Material Handling:
  • Load raw wire rods/coils onto the machine.
  • Inspect incoming material for defects and ensure proper lubrication and cleaning of wire.
• Quality Control:
  • Measure and check wire dimensions using micrometers, calipers, or gauges.
  • Maintain surface finish and mechanical properties as per quality standards.
  • Record production data and report any defects or irregularities. Maintenance &
• Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts.
  • Identify and resolve minor mechanical or process issues.
  • Assist maintenance team during major breakdowns.
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear prescribed PPE.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs and statutory regulations.
• Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate production logs, downtime reports, and quality records.
  • Communicate daily output and issues to the supervisor.

Meshline / Weldmesh Operator

• Machine Operation & Setup
  • Set up meshline/weldmesh machines for required mesh sizes, spacing, and welding parameters.
  • Feed cut/bent rebars or coils accurately for automated welding.
• Production & Quality Assurance
  • Monitor welding quality (strength, spacing, and alignment of mesh) during operation.
  • Conduct dimensional checks to ensure compliance with drawing/blueprint specifications.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Carry out routine maintenance such as electrode cleaning, alignment checks, and lubrication.
  • Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Safety & Compliance
  • Follow safety protocols for welding operations, including proper grounding and PPE use.
  • Maintain logs of production output, downtime, and maintenance activities.
• Coordination & Documentation
  • Liaise with production planning, quality, and dispatch teams to meet schedules.
  • Document shift-wise production and report any deviations or machine concerns.

Desired Academic Qualifications

• ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant trade preferred.
• 10th / 12th pass candidates with relevant experience can also apply.

Desired Work Experience

• 2–5 years’ experience in operating respective machines (steel/TMT industry preferred).

Special Mentions

• Knowledge of wire drawing principles, machine operations, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and gauges
