Job Description

Job Responsibilities

To provide strategic and operational leadership to the Finance function, ensuring effective financial planning, compliance, risk mitigation, and team performance. The role involves managing cash flow, statutory obligations, financial reporting, and ensuring robust internal controls while supporting overall business growth.

 

Financial Analysis, Reporting & Fund Management

  • Understand and interpret business plans (e.g., Tata TISCON/others) to determine fund management needs.
  • Prepare and present timely financial statements and budgets in line with the organization’s
  • schedule.
  • Present financial data and insights to stakeholders, including the Board of Directors.

Financial Records, Bookkeeping & Bank Reconciliation

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations including payroll, invoicing, and vendor payments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely bookkeeping and monthly/quarterly bank reconciliations.

Statutory Compliances

  • Ensure timely filing and payment of Direct and Indirect Taxes (GST, TDS, Advance Tax, etc.).
  • Liaise with consultants for regulatory and financial compliance including banking and investment documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act and other relevant financial statutes.

Internal Audit & Standard Audit Policy

  • Oversee internal audits to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls.
  • Prepare and submit internal audit reports to the management.
  • Identify open audit points and ensure closure through corrective measures.

Budget vs Actual Variance Analysis

  • Conduct variance analysis between budgeted and actual financial results.
  • Identify financial gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure periodic review and forecasting updates.

Financial Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate financial risks impacting the organization.
  • Ensure preparation and reconciliation of financial statements with dealers and banks.
  • Liaise with banks for Letters of Credit (LCs) and Bank Guarantees, ensuring timely issuance and compliance with terms.
  • Manage and track financial instruments (e.g., LCs, BGs, Fixed Deposits, Commercial Papers) for working capital.
  • Deliver periodic MIS and risk analysis reports to management.

Cash Flow & Credit Control

  • Manage credit liabilities and ensure prompt collections across the organization.
  • Guide the Sales team to improve fund recovery timelines.
  • Maintain oversight of cash management, salary disbursements, and fund position tracking.
  • Present daily/weekly reports on collections, disbursements, and liquidity.

Team Management & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Lead the finance team by setting performance plans and monitoring outcomes.
  • Mentor and coach team members, managing both high and low performers effectively.
  • Foster collaboration with other departments for shared financial and business goals.
  • Conduct weekly/bi-weekly performance reviews and goal-setting discussions


 

Desired Academic Qualifications

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) / CMA / MBA in Finance

Desired Work Experience

  • Experience: 8–10 years in progressively senior finance roles, with minimum 2 years in a leadership position
  • Preferred Industry: Manufacturing, TMT steel, construction materials, or distribution/logistics
  • Strong command of ERP platforms (e.g., Tally ERP, SAP, Oracle)
  • Expertise in fund flow management, statutory compliance, risk mitigation, and credit control
  • Experience working with financial instruments and handling banking documentation (LC/BG)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
