Position Name: SQA Engineer
Experience: 3-6 Years
Location: Bengaluru, KarnatakaJob Brief:

• Testing audio playback on different hardware
• Diagnose/debug any simple hardware or software-related issues.
• Prepare detailed validation plans of the consumer electronic products (devices) by considering regular and corner end-consumer scenarios

Must-Have Technical Skills:

• Embedded Linux platforms.
• Boot loader Uboot/uefi environments
• ALSA audio testing – PCM playback and capture scenarios 
• Usage ALSA tools such as aplay, arecord and amixer
• Linux commands related to ALSA, Linux process, memory and filesystem management
• ALSA architecture – Sound cards, device driver, audio mixing, pulse audio
• Knowledge and test experience on different PCM sampling rates, sample formats, channels, audio frame sizes and period sizes
• Knowledge and test experience on different PCM driver errors such as underrun and overrun
• Audio functional, stress, performance, and stability test
• Audio editor tools such as Audacity or similar

Mandatory knowledge on :

• Advanced Linux Sound Architecture layer (Hardware, device driver, ALSA middle layer, ALSA user space library, user space applications)
• Sound card interfaces such as I2S, TDM.
• Sound card control commands volume, distortion and mixer controls, timers

Good to Have Technical Skills:

• Basic Python coding skills, executing Python automation scripts, and triaging errors thrown by Python automation scripts.
• Understanding of Linux execution modes such as kernel and user space.
• Understand embedded SOC peripherals such as UART, I2S, TDM, EMMC, NAND
