Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Mess Supervisor shift timings – First Shift – 5.30 AM to 1:30 PM & Second Shift – 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Efficient Management of the Hostel Mess which includes Store, Kitchen and Dining Areas
The Store Key should be kept with the custody of Supervisor. In no circumstances the key should be handed over to anybody like Cook, Security. They are personally responsible for the stores. Stock taking will be conducted every week by the Administration.
The Kitchen room, Washing area, Dining area and Dining Tables should be cleaned and neat always.
The Taste of the food prepared by the cooks should be checked on all the three session i.e., Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner before serving to the students. If it is defective or not tasty, it should be reported to the Chief Warden then and there and once in a week to the Deputy Director /Dean, to change the Menu if considered necessary.
Efficient Management of the Hostel Mess which caters Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and Dinner for Boys and Girls Hostel Mess Members and Commodities staff members.
Managing a Team Cooks, Suppliers and Housekeeping workers to ensuring a smooth and efficient service delivery.
Food wastage should be identified and noted in a Register everyday and get the signature of the Chief Warden daily and from Deputy Director/Dean once in a week. The reason for the wastage should also be identified and reported for rectification. Control and monitor the financial performance of the Hostel mess and avoid food wastage.
To prepare the Duty Roaster of Cooks and Suppliers in consultation with Chief Cook and monitor it effectively.
You are responsible for supervision of the cleanliness of the Mess premises and is to carry out thorough inspection of the Mess daily and is to accompany the Chief Warden once a week and superior authorities on inspection day. To supervise the Staff Canteen in The Mess Supervisor shift timing and submit the report to the Administrative Section every month for Mess deduction Bill.
To maintain all entries in the computer and stock book to ensure that the receipts of stock and stock on hand are correctly recorded and the indent chit’s record kept properly
Efficient management of functions, hospitality and events.
Ensuring that we deliver high quality service to the mess members and staff members
Ensure all food is prepared as per the menu to a high standard as per organization policy.
Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the organization.
Implement and maintain the standards of Hygiene, Health and safety and inform the authorities to take any action if considered necessary.
Shift duty to be arranged among themselves without any interruptions in the Canteen. If any one Supervisor is on leave and off on any day the other two Supervisors should arrange continue duty from 5:30 AM to 9:30 PM with mutual understanding. To prepare a handover / takeover note on completion of shift day.
Checking Mess Property once a month and submitting a report to the Register after identifying any Losses, Damages and items out on loan.
