Job Title: Assistant Manager – Baaya Experience Centre (EC)
Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai
Experience Required: 3–4 years in client-facing sales, preferably in art, design, or lifestyle retail segments
Salary Range: 7 - 8 LPA
About Baaya Design
Baaya Design is an award-winning Spatial Design Studio based in Mumbai. At Baaya, we offer art and product design consultancy for residences, hospitality, workspaces, public spaces, and airports.
We’ve worked on iconic projects like Tata Bombay House and Hyatt Regency Dehradun, in collaboration with top Architectural and Interior firms.
Our Experience Centre features Signature Artworks and Lighting across multiple Indian art forms with a focus on design innovation. At Baaya, design meets purpose; each project helps preserve heritage and support artisan communities across India.
About the Role
We are looking for a highly articulate and sales-savvy Assistant Manager – Baaya Experience Centre to drive meaningful customer engagement and conversions. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for art, interior styles, an understanding of the art and design space. The ability to translate client needs into relevant Baaya offerings, ranging from artworks and lighting to customised pieces is crucial.
As the first point of contact at the Baaya Experience Centre, you’ll guide visitors through our curated collection of art, artefacts and lighting, offering thoughtful recommendations tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development – Consultative sales to result in conversations and achieve monthly sales targets
- Engage walk-in clients, understand their design sensibilities and project requirements. Recommend suitable artworks, decor, and lighting solutions from the EC or suggest custom commissions.
- Build strong relationships with architects, interior designers and end clients
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising and ensure smooth EC operations
- Coordinate with design and production teams for project updates, samples and timelines
- Maintain CRM records and prepare sales reports for internal review
- Contribute to curated walkthroughs, EC events, and client presentations
- Be an active voice in internal reviews and brainstorming sessions.
- Champion Baaya’s core values of innovation, craftsmanship, and contextual design.
- Support a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and artistic exploration.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 3–4 years of experience in high-end retail, interior products, or the art/design industry
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a flair for storytelling
- Understanding of interior design styles and ability to match client briefs with Baaya’s collections
- Sales-oriented mindset with proven ability to meet or exceed targets
- Experience in dealing with HNI clients, designers, or project leads is a plus
- Familiarity with CRM tools, Google Sheets, and showroom operations
- A passion for Indian arts, culture, and handcrafted design
